Mpact® Downhole Motors Sets Another Drilling Record

Conroe, Texas – Mpact® Downhole Motors is proud to announce that it set a new Barnett Shale Drilling record on March11, 2011 using an Mpact® Downhole Motor. The field performance record was for the longest single-run curve & lateral section. The assembly kicked-off at 7600 feet, and drilled 7392 feet through the curve and lateral to a TD of 14,992 feet. The section was drilled in 125.5 hours, for an average rotating and sliding ROP of 58.9 ft/hr.

The Mpact® Downhole Motor was configured with Mpact’s proprietary 7864 performance power section and premium stator elastomer. An 8-5/8” kick pad was incorporated in the assembly, with a 1.6 degree fixed bent housing.
